he's not "everyone in the country" he is an elected MP and if he was seen to be getting away with it, it would set a very bad president to Jo Public to fix speeding tickets
It virtually is.Seems a bit much to send the guy to prison for this, in my opinion.
While I agree that the man is clearly a massive peckerhead, if you were to lock up everyone in the country that tried to dodge a speeding fine and then lied about it you would have to make Scotland a penal colony.
If he held his hands up to it when this all first came out I'd probably agree, but he spent a year or more still lying through his teeth, trying to get the charge thrown out of court several times, denying it all the way up to the court date before finally admitting it. How much money, CPS, police and court time would have been saved if he'd just held his hands up to it from the time this came out?its about setting an example
