Discuss Classic Kitchen Fit!! in the Industrial Electricians' Talk area at ElectriciansForums.net

Can you even get the cover off when it's built around on top like that? I'm not that famaliar with your style equipment, but that looks like it would be a special challenge to work on. I hope that's illegal, because that sure wouldn't fly here in the states.

way to close to that cooker......bodge job..deffo......no cut tiles to units..strip hanging down under extractor....surely that can't be a new fit..?

It shouldn't really fly here in the UK either!

This is an example of people (so call trades people) totally turning a blind eye to what should have been done correctly. In this case a kitchen fitter had installed the kitchen around the CU and hadn't had it moved to a safer position. The enviroment is totally wrong for starters, moisture, condensation, water, hazard etc, etc.

Of course the customer was non aware that the poition of the CU was incorrect as the property was leased. But you could produce a list of the problems with a CU in a position right next to a cooker!

I'm surprised that the distributor ran a supply to that location. where is the meter/distributors fuse?
Probably one of those deals where the CU was installed long before that room was even a kitchen. Might have been some other type of room entirely before it was converted for use as lease property.

yeah, i see what you mean, but the general height/ positioning of the CU on a wall doesn't make sense to me, and the CU doesn't look to old either does it?
