How would others code the switch fuse not meeting IP4X on the top surface?
The live terminals are very close to the top edge

Hmm. Should be fitted with a tails shroud (or a dob of silicone).

Doesnt meet IP4x but you ain't going to get your finger in there. In the real World - C3.

It's in a communal cupboard what if someone put there car keys there while checking the meter? Is silicon conductive before it dries.
ip4x is a 1mm piece of wire,ip2x refers to a bs finger

These kind of nibble outs have always naff and normally nearly always leave a gap around the cable entry. Most sparks will squidge a bunch of mastic around the gaps but it still looks rubbish

Or decided to take their metal knitting needles in there. I was trying to make a sensible risk assessment.
Silicone is not conductive snd - in any case - why touch it while it’s wet?

But we are now talking about resolution of the issue. I thought you were doing an EICR?

I would C3 this too

  • Agree
Reactions: mainline
I think as electricians we over egg this IP4X jazz. If I can't see live parts without the use of laboratory equipment then Code 3 if I'm in a bad mood.

You can see the terminals from the top, in any case work has asked me to address the issue,so I spilt some 16mm blind grommets with a bit of ct1 to keep in place
