Closed thread - plasterboard

Bit surprised that Tidy Max's thread about plasterboard was closed.

It was properly located in the Chit Chat - Off Topic forum. There was no swearing or aggro. Reason given by tazz was "This is an electrical forum.....closed".

Hang on a minute! We have whole forums devoted to pets, sports, politics and photography, so what's wrong with discussing construction materials and techniques?

Has the Electricians Forums policy on off-topic threads changed?

It's more relevant than the other topics I mentioned. And it was in Chit Chat, so what's the problem?

If it's in the off-topic section of the electrical forum then what exactly is the issue?

One of the other moderators started a thread the other day for the sole purpose of posting pictures of his dog, surely that is even further from being relevant to an electrical forum?

Are you going to close the photography section, endless political threads or even the jokes thread? None of them are strictly relevant to an electrical forum.

Seeing as this place is for discussing Electrical Installation, I think talking about insulation and dry-lining is quite relevant as an associated subject!

Not knocking you Tazz , but I would say it was more relevant than some of the stuff that is posted on here .
I have not looked at the link yet that ( I think ) Archy posted , but if ever we needed to reboard anything on a job , it may be be very helpful.
