Hey guys,

So I have a community centre I do some work for, they are looking to replace all the sockets and switches, which is a load of them. They are currently metal sockets and switches, because its an old building most of the sockets are in the large skirting board, because of this I think it would be best to keep them as metal to protect from damage.

They are recessed in metal back boxes in the skirting, my preference of sockets etc is MK. Has anyone used MK metal clad sockets or switches on recessed back boxes? Do they fit? do they look ok?

Thanks for the reply, might have to buy one from screwfix and see what it looks like in situ. I know they come with the metal clad back box but still cheaper than some decorative socket.

Order them without the backbox, the MK stuff is almost always supplied with the box and accessory as separate parts from the wholesaler.

I've used these a few times and they aren't actually too bad - they look nicer than a lot of metal sockets imo - I believe they are just rebadged BG stuff - whether that is a good or bad thing I'll leave for others to decide :p
