can anyone tell me just out of interest what a years public liability insurance would cost for say 1 spark who has just set up on his own and one apprentice mainly wprking i domestic propertys and what kind of figures are van insurance for transits

Try these guys for insurance:

Trade Direct

Recently updated my PI insurance for £250K and cost me around the £80 mark.

I would say to cover yourself EL, PL, PI etc probably looking around £200 PA.

They do a special cover for sparks through Zurich.

PS includes £1000 cover for tools in your van also.
