hi all
as this was a newone to me i thought id run it by everyone here.
called to a job today to quote for new stairs lighting wiring (old building now flats x 4)
guy showed me the meter cupboard and explaned that a electrician has put in a landlords c/u
and meter to run said stairs lighting-outside lighting-fire alarm ect.
on inspection i discovered that he has cut into the live tails pre meter and connected his own meter to the supply.
now the owner tenants have been waiting for a bill to arrive for this meter.....but of course is hasnt come as no
suppliers know that its their!!!!!!!!!
he has cut the seal and the sticker on the fuse.
he is apparently a young lad...no cert has been issued for his work (meter-c/u-4 xoutside lights ect)
no paper work of the quote and paid in cash so no trail.
i have advised the management commity that they are stealing electricity from edf the supplier and that edf must be told and the
install corrected asap...they are of course now terrifed of what will happen.
its i guess an honest mistake by someone without the know how to do it right..but...
anyone seen this sort of thing before...all advise and previous experiance welcomed.
ta all

A very long thread!:-http://www.electriciansforums.net/electrical-forum-general-electrical-forum/57928-electrical-contractor-bypassed-my-meter.html?highlight=free+electricity

Edit: the link doesn't seem to be working, if you type in "free electricity" in search box you will find it.
