Conservatory down lights

I am about to wire up a new conservatory , it has a pitched roof which will be have insulation and be plaster boarded. They want down lights fitted but I am unsure which ones are allowed. I am sure that I could get away with fire rated ones but they are so limited in there look, can I use standard ones or led( non fire rated) .
how do I get around the fitting them into an area where there may be insulation boards that I may have to cut into.
Oni some jobs before I built boxes 200 x 200 mm out of plasterboard before the ceiling is boarded but I am not sure how that would effect heat loss through the external roof

LED lamps with A fire hood should surely be okay?

There is no requirement for fire rated down lights. Fire rated fittings are only required in ceilings between floors to prevent the spread of fire.

Obviously you will need to clear any insulation from directly above the fittings, or use LED's which will run cool.

Adam do you mean fire rated between floors of two separate dwellings as in flats or are they also nesseccary between the floors of an ordinary house

Click do a small fire rated downlight.. LED's would be my option they dont get warm like other lamps so they will be perrrrrrrrfect

Not really much difference in price between rated and non fire rated now. LED lamps will run cool, but I can't see that there is any requirement for fire rated lamps in a conservatory. The lamps only have to provide the same amount of resistance to fire that the plasterboard that has been cut into would provide.
