Today I got called to a property with faults on the immersion heater (no hot water) and storage heaters, not working at all and have not for 8 months.

I went to check the storage heater dedicated CU, and there wasn't one, the customer assured me that 1 immersion and storage heaters only come on in the night, I checked the meter cupboard and there is no ECO7 meter, and the photos below shows what I found in the CU.

Have any of you come across this set up before, this must be some type of times contact.. But set how? I can't even find this contactor on the net..

I was already behind on my jobs today so didn't look to much into it on the job.. But this set up just doesn't make sense to me and can't quite see how it's working.. What am I missing??

looks like there must be a timer some where from the 6 A mcb through contactor which then controlles the contactors have a look for a timer.

where dose the grey cable go to ?timer?

The contactors are generally fed from the off peak side of the meter. if you look around the meter you will probably find a 5amp slide lock fuse to protect the contactor feed cable.

Had the same recently, but couldn't get access to the meter cupbord to check to see if the timers was disconnected or bust

Can you trace the double insulated grey cable from the contactor?

Fitted these type of things before, last time was to centrally control panel heaters in a house with no gas supply. Had two contactors controlled by room stat/timer. Sourced timers from mk.

had one recently Hagar db split 1side 24hr side2 was off peak one meter with 4 tails out and a small antena Meter was a lot bigger than single phast digital jobbbies theyr fitting just now

as for your contactor Have you tried bringing it on manualy ?

is the meter a dual tarrif unit? if not then the contactor is a waste of space as they will pay a single rate with no Economy7. There should be a time clock near the meter, they usually have a single sheathed wire to switch the meter.
