I am trying to build a little desk lamp from scratch that I can plug into my wall outlet. (Total noob to LED lighting and electrical work in general, but I've been doing research)
I got a few Cree COB LEDs ~450 lumens, 9V, 4000K, 400mA (rated for up to 1A).
I'm struggling to identify how to down step the power from my 120V wall outlet to the LEDs, and all I can find is enormous power supplies, nothing that could fit into the base of a lamp (I don't want a wall wart), and further, what a good source to spec and purchase the exact power supply would be?
Any help would be incredibly appreciated!
