Hi Guys

I'm currently working on a listed building for a client, the DNO has put the service fuse directly behind front door at 1500mm and the door bangs it every time it could do with moving at who's cost should it be? The armoured supplying the cable is also literally lashed above the door between some stonework detail and looks a right mess. It looks as if it been done around 30 years ago. It will get damaged if it stays where it is but the client doesn't think he should be paying to sort out there original rough work which is fair enough. I thought just phone them get them to have a look the back board is rotten anyway.

Any ideas?

Paul

you will find that the DNO will CHARGE for the replacement..! there argument will be its been fine for 30 years why did no body complain about it before!??

you need to have a VERY good argument to get DNO to move for free!! why not get english heritage to ask / write DNO a letter and say that in keeping with listed building etc heritage can we reposition this blah blah blah ..... you get the drift!

That's good advice mate, having to get planning permission for a couple coach lights and a nasty cable lashed across is no problem. Plans a good one.

PMSL DS their answer will probably be the old"workmanship" must be maintained in its original posistion and condition as its been there for years
As for DNO moving it it WILL cost a heafty packet specialy if they have to go through heratige

Is the cut out damaged ??? because if it is then the old tarred in bakalite ones have to be replaced with a new type henley!

This involves a external dig, and cable replacing for the last few mts with split con. while they are doing this most of the guys will mopve it to a different place for you while they are at it.

So go and check to see if the cut out is damaged, or even jyst the tag that the security seal goes through is missing Wink wink!
