One of my friends has an electric hob that when you turn the temperature dial no matter what the setting is it always goes full heat, is there some sort of thermal fuse within the hob? im not too sure, thanks in advance

sounds like a faulty regulating switch.Check if it is still under waranty. You will need serial no.make and model to source a replacement.

hi there

would suggest that the temp probe part has gone up the swanney so loose cables and others copper element type check for loose or snapped connections cheers

is that the dials with the temp setting that your talking about?

yep, what the dial turns, sometimes called energy regulator,or infinite temp.control switch. With the power off you will need to remove underside cover to see part number. When ordering spares they will need all sorts of numbers, appliance, and partNo.
