Much like last years thread, testing still ahead, but I wonder whether this years cars will make things more interesting, all will it still be the procession behind the Mercedes's two cars, with the rest, best of the rest?

For some reason, contentiously, I've decided on Sky Q to see F1 in ultra HD. Unfortunately, as I've already experimented, I have to wear my driving glasses (apt really) to notice any difference.

Some might suggest that its more interesting watching paint dry, but last years thread attracted more views than other similar sports threads, so there ;)

Make it more interesting, some things are just not possible:)

You can get on that step as well!
I didn't mean to mock, it's that I can't see the point of FI they nearly always know who is going to win, and if the first 2 are from the same team and the second guy needs the points to be champ the other bloke lets him win, still it's better than Darts that's for sure, how the ---- can Darts be a sport?

But that's just it Pete, at some point in the future Mercedes will stop being the first & second, and another team will be the ones to beat, and then..........errrh see what you mean?

Arrgh, what the hell, it's still exciting seeing the cars go round and round and round and round. You don't know what your missing.

PS I thought Darts were a pop group?

Might just as well be, about as exciting as watching paint dry. I may make an effort to watch some of the F1 now I have nothing to do.

Top man, unfortunately the free to air service of F1 operated by Channel 4, only has the highlights of the first race, the Australian GP, on 27th March. Perhaps a sensible approach for you Pete, as a newbie. You can fast forward through the boring bits, adverts etc. Should last all of 5 mins.

PS Don't mention it to Mrs Pete. Mrs Midwest gets the right hump, when I settle down for the weekend watching free practice 1,2,3, then qualifying then the race itself, with some nice cold beers etc. Still she can go shopping, or whatever Mrs F1 windows do. :)

Pete, didn't you get scalextric?

I'm have a car mechanical background also, I find the technology behind it all more interesting.

wife bought tickets for birthday.

Over the years,i have competed in motorcross, trials, did banger racing for 8 years...even some Formula Ford,so,i have an "interest"...but i would rather help my youngest's son's teachers, look for head lice, than watch F1 on the telly :)

...Now,if Putin put forward a Russian team...i'd watch that ;)

I may pay £6.99 to watch the race on NowTV if FP1, FP2, FP3 and qually are tight.

My pre season money is on Red Bull........

^^ as I said, if its all looking competitive and we're not busy I might pay .... but only did it once last year!

I've paid some more money to Rupert Murdoch, to help him out with his pension, and got Sky F1 in Ultra HD :p Did I mention that before?

Unfortunately, I think the Mercs will do the same again this year, although Bottas is gonna have to step up to the plate and earn some points. We'll see if Rosberg was great driver or just a good one.

If Ferrari don't pull their finger out, there'll be tears before bedtime. Incidentally, why ain't I getting any alerts, it's my flipping thread. It's cos I got Ultra HD, in' it!

Missed this thread earlier in the year but what a start. The cars look amazing and the speeds are now unreal the season is the best it has been for years and its only 4 races in. Ferrari have certainly got closer to the Mercedes and I cant believe red bull are as slow as they are as my money was on them this season. Bottas will be a threat this year to hamilton and Vettel will be sniffing out any advantages he can instead of moaning like he did last year lol.
Mclaren are a joke this year and even worse than they were 2 years ago i cant see the Honda partnership lasting to much longer. Is anyone going to any races this year im not able to this year first one i missed in a few years but back next year.
Im not a hamilton fan but he is british so im hoping he can win a few this year and its great news to see Button back for Monaco.
