Flat clamps - Crocodile Clips??

Hi,

I'm trying to source these, person who wants them isn't massively in the know. They suggested 300 odd AMPS (yeah I know). But they need to be 'flat'. Pic included.

Look like jump lead clamps.
Have you tried somewhere like Halfords?

Are they for an arc welder or similar?

A decent welding ground clamp can easily be rated at 300A or more, try a welding supplier.

Thanks, they kept saying to me crocodile clips, which they certainly are not. I've tried a few places, plus internet, but no joy. Have contacted a welding supplier on the advice above.

Clarke do welding clamps, and they sell one with jaws that clamp flat and parallel.

What's the physical size, as welding clamps are quite big.

Seeing that welding clamp, it’s uninsulated, and a lot of heavy copper.

The picture in OP still reminds me of a jumper cable. The groove in the centre of the jaw to go over a round pin of a battery.

Ok reread OP, and he does ask for a “flat” alternative.

It might help if we knew what the application was for?

They absolutely are. For the Clarke one, the "spec" says 50cm x 50cm x50cm (probably the size of the box!) and it weighs 2.5kg

I don't think the ops ones are welding, they look like mediocre Chinese jump pack/start battery type ones.

No they aren't welding clamps. But he only showed them as an example of the contact face that he wanted.
