Hello oh Sparky Ones

I have a bit of a problem and am not sure if its electrical or more of the paranormal variety........Basically, when ever anyone is in the bedroom on the 1st floor, the lights in the living room on the ground floor start flickering!

The flickering light is a 6 bulb pendant lighting hanging from a ceiling rose-like fitting, do I just need to replace the light bulbs (flame shape 40W each I think), call an electrician to come have a look at it or call in an Exorcist or wat?

Apologies if this is in the wrong place.....

Or its a B+Q light, I am sure that is a built in energy saving feature!

Seriously though, if you feel confident enough, drop the fitting down and tighten all the screws, check for junction box behind fitting. MAINS OFF!

If not get a local electrician to have a look, loose conections can sometimes get a bit hot, so sooner rather than later!

Thanks for the advice: it sounds about right, though one of the bulbs has fused, so I will replace it etc, but am not too confident that I know what I am doing with regards to opening the light fitting and tightening wires: would probably just end up electrocuting myself (!) So, will have to get one of your lot to come out and have a look at it: any thoughts on what one is likey to be charged for this job??

probley a call out charge or hours labour if only a simple job like loose wire

however that company charges really

plus any bits if needed

I went to investigate a simular fault, all lights in the house would dim, Turned out to be the neutral tail, loose and arching, No copper to be seen, Nice black and crispy
