I have a large house in Brittany across the channel on the Plymouth-Roscoff ferry, it’s an hours drive once you get to Roscoff and I’m offering free accommodation for a tradesmen who wants to spend one day a week rewiring it or plastering it, it will be quite spartan until it’s plastered., but it’s possible to quickly plaster and carpet a couple of rooms and explore France from there on the six days you’re not working, please call for further details and ask for Lee

Did something like this 30 or so years ago. An enjoyable experience, and I still go back to the same area in Brittany for a few days, every couple of years or so.

Hi Brian, just put it online, it’s there if you want it for as long as you want to stay out there, I bought the house a few years ago and put a new roof on, then a relative died and I’ve been involved in a probate case since. Don’t have as much to spend on it now, but I did buy a Bi-Fold door onto the garden and if anyone can fit that I can pay. My idea is for someone to live basically for a few weeks, by which time there should be a couple of rooms looking good and a nicer way to live, I had a squatter last year too so I want one or two people over there, it’s a nice spot though next to a monastery overlooking a lake

The property is also 45 minutes drive to Lorient where all the bars and beaches of Brittany are based, nice for the weekend ?

don't think i'd fancy a 45 minute drive after visiting a bar. can't see straight even when sober. Clousseau would have a field day with his blow bag.

I can see the French farmers and fishermen blockading the house and the channel when they find out there's a non E.U citizen, working without a Visa, not paying tax to the French government and robbing their tradesmen / women / others of work.
