Has anyone used the brand Fusebox before, how do people rate it as I’m just looking at there main switch spd board with RCBOs

We always use Hager! But just shopping around...

Yes, I've installed several of the all-RCBO boards including the SPD, from the 6 way to the 20 way versions.

One of the main criteria was a reasonable cost RCBO, and no trailing earth leads from the RCBOs to make the board look like a bowl of spaghetti.

I've fitted quite a few too, I'd say they're very good value and decent quality.
Here's one I did a couple of months ago.

Another vote for Fusebox here, used quite a few of them in past 4 to 5 months, decent quality overall, and the price is extremely keen compared to Hager, like how the SPD comes with its own wires or connected in some boards. Whereas any others I've used you need to add your own wiring to connect them.

A few of the vloggers have been using them with no adverse comments.

Just seen them for the first time here in century electrical this morning as its somewhere I dont usually go. Would you say it's worth giving them a go then?

DSS electrical on the tube is now saying they are the worst boards he's ever fitted. Worse than BG - that takes some beating!

Have to say I've been looking at them though given the price. Been given good prices by YESSS

Have you a link to the video?

I have fitted loads of BG before and would personally rate the Fusebox a shed load better than BG, I really can't justify paying double the price for an Rcbo and SPD just because it says Hager on it. I'd rather have the price difference in my bank account than Hagers lol

start of the video. The slagging off starts around 2 minutes 15

I wouldn't listen to that guys comments, no facts or reasons given, just a throwaway comment that they are poo, without justifying it with any issues he found.

Quite often when I've heard other sparks complain about certain materials it's down to themselves and not the actual item they are complaining about.

The worst consumer units I've ever used have to be ESR or LVE.

I've just priced a Hager SPD/RCBO board against a Fusebox unit. When you add all the Fusebox extras in the difference between the 2 was £60+VAT.

Unless the fuse box boards are I. My local wholesalers I'm not likely to fit then

How many circuits? The rcbos and spd are approx half the cost of Hager.

@Phil Thompson I'd agree on the SPD price. But not RCBO's. Hager RCBO's are £3/£4 more to me than the Fusebox ones. The price reflected a 14 way Fusebox CU that comes loaded with the SPD and a Design 10 12 way unit with loaded SPD.

Crikey. That’s rough. I do buy a lot of them and play hard ball with them tho’!

If you're going by YouTube sparks then a few do like them: David Savery, Nick Bundy, Thomas Nagy, all have fitted them and, at the time of video, really liked them.

I have heard many good reviews on the Fusebox but from what I have come across if you are already on Hager regularly then the quality is a good reason to stay with them.. If you haven’t tried a Fusebox though, might be worth to try one yourself, see what you think?

What about the build quality though George.

I've not fitted one, I've seen one though my local CEF have started sticking them.
They looks quite well thought out, knockouts are positioned well and the layout is pretty well thought out..
They do look a little tinny in my opinion, the metal is pressed at the sides, of the CU I dont think it would really put me off... I get a decent price on Lewden A type RCBOs so I'll probably continue using them.

You are quite welcome and yes that looked very neat and I can tell by your work that you are a perfectionist. Again pretty Dave

A bit off subject, but does anyone have any experience with m2 boards? I've been offered boards with spds and compact rcbos at a decent price, but I've never fitted any so if anyone has any experience with them Id be grateful.

Even after all these years I can't make my boards look that neat - hats off to you
I'm with you there. I can sometimes get them looking pretty neat, but not like that, especially an RCBO board. Very impressive!

I would want a glass cover front on that, it's a piece of art!
