Discuss Hager Bluetooth AFDD/MCB/RCD Module in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Very interesting video. The standby current of 0.5W = 4.4kWh per year or about two quid, but unlikely to be a big drain compared to all of the other "always on" stuff folks have.

A check on Edward Bros shows they are about £101 just now:

Still, if I had to use them then the trip diagnostics looks well worth it, as well as the switch-neutral to make testing easier (and fractionally safer should anyone reverse the supply polarity, etc).

They don't seem to offer any 10kA versions for commercial TPN style boards, but I guess that is rare for now (though with domestic 3P likely to risk only a matter of time...)

I saw a vid ( I will try to find it ) where MK are designing something very similar blue tooth AFFDDDs where you can turn them on / off from your phone or tablet. You can also monitor current draw , check on fault times etc etc

I fitted a board full if hager afdds earlier this year, i checked firmware with the app at the time and were all up to date, went back for something last week and thought ill have a little check, well theres new firmware available. Each afdd has to be connected one at a time, and to update the firmware it asks you to disconnect the outgoing cables from each one! Fun

That's going to impress customers - an annual service on the bloody fuse box.
