This unit requires a internal and external mode of isolation, a spur inside and a rotary switch for the controls outside, being that some of this equipment is outside I assumed that an RCD protected circuit is required, the manufacturer warns against a 30ma rcd as the unit may cause nuisance tripping.I cannot get back to the mains and the loading of the unit allows for me to remove a single socket that sits in the correct location and fit a RCD spur in it's place,is there such a beast as a RCD spur rated at 100ma

I've only seen heat pumps (domestic sized) that have a single supply point. Usually the indoor unit is supplied internally from the outdoor unit or vice versa. Why would you need two separate points of isolation? Wouldn't a single isolator at the point of supply suffice if it isn't accessible without a tool or it had a facility to be locked out?

Does the manufacturer require the use of an RCD? If not, you may not need one (like lighting outdoors), assuming, of course, that the cable installation method doesn't force you to use one. Anyone know for sure?

The heat pump that I installed last year required a 32A supply to the outdoor unit then the controls were via a FCU fused at 3A. I didn't install RCD protection to the heat pump as the cable was SWA so was not required to protect the cable however I don't know about the equipment outside the equipotential zone argument. At the end of the day the heat pump isn't mobile so I don't think it requires additional protection but it's too early on a Saturday morning to go digging out the regs book to check my facts.
