My knowledge of connecting up heating systems doesn't go much past a basic combination boiler and stat set up. I'd like a better knowledge as I'm coming up against systems with multiple valves, ufh, solar and wood burners which have very little to do with the s and y configurations. Can anyone recommend me a decent training course?

Print yourself off some drawings and study them until you can draw the wiring diagram out off the back of your hand without the aid of a drawing to reference from, You could go as far as buying a lifestyle pack and building your own little rig at home to practise on. Read up on how two port and 3 port valves work, once you understand how they work and the order of how everything is switched it's actually quite basic. Going on manufacturers training days such as the Honeywell one is generally a waste of time IMO and you won't learn much.

Here is a course I found but the price is ridiculous but it would probably be more in depth than any manufacturer training.

Central Heating Controls Training Course

I find the simplest way to understand whilst studying diagrams is to think of all the components being switches, place them in the right order and it usually works !
