I want to get myself a 10.8V impact driver and drill driver set but cant decide which one to get, bosch, dewalt or makita.

Bosch Gsr10.8-2vli 10.8v Drill Driver 2 X 1.3ah Li-ion Batteries + Impact Driver + Torch

DeWalt DCK211S2-SFGB 10.8V XR Cordless Drill & Impact Driver Twin Pack | Screwfix.com

Makita LCT305W 10.8v LXT li-ion Triple Pack Cordless Kit £116.25

The dewalt set comes with 1.5Ah batteries but only a carry bag rather than a box
The bosch set whilst only having 1.3Ah batteries comes with a 30min charger and a torch
The makitas are the cheapest but the max torque on the imapct driver is only 90Nm compared to 105 and 107 for the bosch and dewalt respectively. I have also seen a few reviews saying that the makita impact driver isnt particularly good.

I dont intend to use the set for heavy duty drilling but mainly for screwdriving and drilling out trunking etc., I have 24V and 110V bosch drills for the main drilling work, so probably either set will serve my needs but I have an annoying habit of always having to get the best and it is driving me nuts now!

What do you guys think? I would be particularly interested to hear from people who have used more than one of these sets who can offer a good comparison.

Cheers

I have had the bosch set for a couple of years now and cannot fault it. I've used it for drilling out holes for downlights, backboxes and it keeps on going! I have always used the bosch multipurpose drill bits (blue ones) and my mate bought one as soon as he used it. My other friend has the Makita and it is also excellant so its down to personal preference really as side by side either is a great tool. I found the 1.3 batteries to be really good as well, and the 30 min charger is a bonus.

I would never go for bosch after a couple of bad experiences. Bosch batteries don't tend to last as long as the other makes. I have s 36v bosch and its crap now after only 2 years. And also had a18v bosch that's on the scrap heap as well.

Funny that, currently using both the 18 volt sds and combi drill from Bosch and one is almost 2 years old and the other is just over 2 years and all 4 batteries are as strong as the day i got em. On the other hand though, got the 10.8 volt Makita driver and one of the batteries died and wouldn't charge and that was just out of warranty, about 15 months old.

All mine is the latest Lithium Ion stuff with the cell protection though.

If it had of been a Milwaukee they'd of replaced the battery as have a two year warranty on batteries!

Another vote for Makita set here, we have two sets.

Well, I decided to go for the Bosch set in the end. Ordered today and typically got a call back saying they're out of stock til next week.... Why does that always happen! :-(

I have had a Bosch 10.8 since they first came out, had a few years of all-day use and batteries still OK. Would highly rate it. Even came with a free bosch t-shirt with vinny jones on lol.
