Has anyone used or fitted this type of back box ? It is a 1G & 2G

Use them quite regular in kitchens where you might have a double socket, and an isolation switch for a below counter socket.

Switch and socket are butted against each other with no gap, but can be tricky if decorative fittings are used that are slightly wider than standard white.

Also come as 1+1 versions as Westy mentions a dual box.
 
Yes, they're fine, and useful. For some reason there are only 2 (diagonally opposite) fixing holes, but you can always drill more if one or both of them line up with crumbly substrate. None of the lugs are adjustable, so you have to get the box spot-on level.

Always wondered why this was the case with dual boxes - shouldn't be a great hardship for manufacturers to place adjustable lugs on either side.
