Some like to wire from the head end to the device. Others like to do it from device to head end. What would you do if you were pulling 4 cat5e wires. The closest to the head-end being at 250', next 300', next 350', last at 450'. Would you place your wire rolls at the head-end and pull toward the device, or place your rolls near each drop and pull toward the head end.

Is there an option for "it depends"?

I'll usually start a run at the end where there it is likely to be easier to pull the rest of the run through, towards the end it will be most difficult to pull through.

Sometimes both ends are going to be a pain and I'll start in the middle.

As above. “It depends”

you need room to set up your rolls, nothing that could interfere with the cables running off, like door handles..

And a mate feeding the cables in straight while you’re pulling the other end

start by offering to buy it a drink, then "your place or mine?"... oops, you said "wire", not "bird". it's this word association thing...bird on a wire. ??

As others have said all depends. general i would pull the cable from the end with the least bends and or holes . If you puting a cable over 20 floors you would drop down the riser not try and pull it up .
