I have an 11kw inverter installed at home. If I turned on enough appliances it would be possible overload the inverter. Is there a way to detect this and avoid it?

If the inverter is grid-tied then surely the excess power needed would be supplied from the Grid. Depending on the make of inverter you may be able to view it from an app if necessary.

This particular inverter is off-grid, so it doesn't back feed to the grid.
It does have a mains pass thru mode, but if I understand correctly it will not handle more than 11kw in pass thru mode. (I could be wrong about this, hopefully I am)
In my original post I probably should have explained that it is an inverter/charger connected to a battery bank, a solar array and the mains.
This is the unit

reading the instructions has lead me to believe that the unit can only provide 11kw and i think it includes the pass through current that would be irrelevant anyway as you say it is off grid so no power is available to pass through anyway??

there is one relay output but it seems to be pre configured as a battery low warning and the instructions do not say that it can be reprogramed to say the device is overloaded.

it looks like the unit will provide up to 22kw for 2 seconds to cope with spikes in demand.
