hi, i am fitting 8 LED recessed downlights i the living room, anyone got any tips or tricks to ensure that the lights will be in a straight row as my OCD will kick in if there not and il end up ripping the entire ceiling apart ? ive got a bosch 360 laser level but cant exactly get it to laser the ceiling, any one got ideas how they do it?

I mark all my centres first, measured from the wall and screw in a short screw. Get up the ladder and look along the line.... you’ll see of a screw is off because the wall isn’t straight.

Sometimes string from the 4 corners and hope the other screws are in the same line.

one of my recent utility room installs, the 6 lights ended up in a hexagon shape because of high cupboards in the corners but just worktop inbetween.
