Hi - I know this is in my car engine bay, but I'm hoping the logic for repairing it will be similar.

The attached photo shows the problem - this is for my car's horn. I have tried soldering it but there is so little wire available in the white connector that it doesn't make a strong enough connection. The white connector doesn't come apart.

I'd really appreciate any advice here as my car's MOT is due shortly and this has just happened!

Your best option is to extract the terminal from the socket and directly solder to it
It looks like there is a lot of verdigris on the terminal so it may need a good clean and plenty of flux to solder a cable to it

Thanks for the quick reply! That's a good idea, thanks - I'll see if I can pull/push the terminal out of the connector.
 
If it comes to it you could always dispense with the plug/socket and solder+heatshrink the wires.

The terminals are normally held in with barbs on the side of the terminal a couple of pins can be used to move the barbs back to allow the terminal to be pushed out in the absence of the specialist removal tools
