Does anyone know if British qualifications are comparable and accepted in the industry in Hungary. How difficult would it be to enter the industry in Hungary and how would someone go about starting the ball rolling.

i think hungary will be the jumping off point for anything east of there:

i like the loud speaker halfway up the post , lol !

a voice cackles........

"attention ! will everyone look at my awesome wiring"

;-)
a bit of a throwback to the old polit bureau days eh biff....

not unlike loudspeakers at bus & railstations across the land rite now.....barking out stuff about how the `security services` will clamp down.....or words to that effect....

Well thanks guys for al the comments and opinions..... to be fair not much use to me so far.

I know Eon is a prominent supplier in Hungary and being a German Company I'm sure have higher standards than those what we may expect from a former eastern block country.

My reason for my enquiry is because I've bought a holiday home over there with a view to retiring over there but would be looking for work from Expats who have settled there who are frustrated with the bureaucracy and red tape involved not only with the utility companies but builders and all types of trades.

Would appreciate any advice pointing me in the right direction.

Many thanks.

Dave

I would have thought it would be best to contact the Hungarian consulate in the first instance and ask the relevant questions to those that will be able to officially answer your queries correctly!!

And then there is the new UK electrician that has been produced 17 days!!
Aren't we the clever ones!! lol!!

17 days to train to be a spark - it makes me feel old,in my day(the Nineties)you had to do four years.
The sad thing is monkeys that do these courses seem to think that they are really a spark and are all the more dangerous for it.

That must be true! after all today you can get 6 "A" levels at grade A. In my day at school it was rare to get a grade "a" at "O" level. There must have been a quantum leap in intelligence while I was asleep pondering the possibilities of becoming a doctor instead of a sparky if only I had been born 30 years later.
