I must say that these are brilliant! Cable stripper, reamer, cutter (very good) pliers, crimper. So up a ladder this one tool can do most operations for terminating cables and a few handy things besides that. I thought bit expensive but... I am not a tool tart though. I was shown these and thought about it then yeh just did it. Really please so much less to swap and carry.

Knipex Installation Pliers :)

Love them. Had mine for about 12 months, used them on every job. Can't fault them.

when in the forces i developed a condition known as shiny metal syndrome. i accumulated allsorts of random tools and bits of kit. i didnt particularly have a need for. it was just shiny and new and looked like it might be useful.
I had tools that i did not even know there purpose or what they were for. had it just in case though.

It's amazing how much kit we need to do this job to cover every eventuality. I was trying to categorise tools for specific jobs as I work from a car and space is premium BUT when I get that van it will all be in one very strong steel box on 4x 15" wheels (with an engine if I can afford one!)
Ps - I like tools too! @Gavin John Hyde

It's ok Gavin your among friends here, we won't judge you ;):).
Sadly though I have to tell you, there is no known cure for your illness. There is however temporary pain relief available by aquiring more shiny objects :D

I've seen these for a while now and been wondering why they get such good reviews. They look clunky, overly large, and awkward. Is it a case of trying them out ?

It's gonna cost you to find out :) unless you can find some nice person to let you try theirs, good luck with that one :D

iv been looking at these for a while myself.

They do look long and awkward looking. Glad to know you've rated them highly. Maybe they will be on my xmas list

I tried some out and didn't like them, well not entirely dis-liked. I keep them in my "occasional use" tool kit, that I keep in my car so I don't have to lug round loads of tools to do a quick small job. But for day to day I just couldn't get comfy using them, I guess I'm just old school :)
