If you're a qualified, trainee, or retired electrician - Which country is it that your work will be / is / was aimed at?
Singapore
What type of forum member are you?
Manufacturer / Distributor / Supplier / Inventor - etc
I would like to consult with experienced electricians about the cooperation relationship between electricians and brands. For example, if I install a Zano brand dimmer, would I receive a commission from Zano? Or are there similar cooperation methods?
Is this a topic that can be openly discussed?

Why would you expect to get commission

Why would you expect to get commission
For example, if a plumber purchases a Tado thermostat from Screwfix and installs it for a user, Tado rewards the plumber with £5. So, I'm wondering if there are similar services offered by brands for electrician-related products?

Are you based in Singapore, as your flag suggests?

Some of these commission offers may be region or country specific..

I think when new products come onto the market, the manufacturer offers these commission deals as a way to get their name out there.

Other options available to contractors is to become a “recommended installer” listing on the manufacturers website.

Ah… I see from OPs previous threads that they ARE the manufacturer?

In that case….. what’s your best offer for us to fit your gear? 🤩🤑

Yes, we are a manufacturer, and we plan to launch some new products in the UK, such as dimmer switches. We have seen some brands offering commissions to electricians, so we are considering whether we should provide the same service. Do you have any experience in this area? Or what commission level do you think would be appropriate for collaborating with electricians like yourself?

Nothing I buy offers a commission, and I'd be suspicious of a brand that felt they needed to do this. I cover the cost of sourcing materials with a modest mark-up when invoicing the customer, which is quite common.

I'd focus on offering products that had compelling reasons to be chosen, and competitive prices, rather than just another dimmer or whatever. People tend to stick to known ranges that work well and are reliable (for example, I use a lot of Varilight dimmers, and there would have to be a good reason to choose a different brand).

Thank you very much for your explanation, now I have a clearer understanding of the electrician community. The reason why I raise the issue of commissions is because I was told that if you want to enter the electrician circle in the UK, you need to pay commissions......

I don't think some U.K customers would be happy to know that TADO and or others have inflated the price to them just so the installer can benefit.
They're quite likely to want the installer to reduce the cost of the items.

Indeed, this is not conducive to the healthy development of the industry. Consumers should benefit from better prices and better quality, rather than being kidnapped by channels. Thanks for the suggestion!
