I have just spent 14 hours working on a detox wing with screaming, shouting fighting prisoners.

Had to give CPR to someone who had taken too many horse tranquilisers and dish medication out to over 90 prisoners who nearly all shout at you. Sow up self cut wounds, listen to horror stories and deal with massively understaffed prison officers who are all stressed!

Compared to....... listening to radio 2 whilst spending the day finding a neutral/earth fault and changing a CU..... which I loved!

I need to do my NVQ and become a proper electrician.... I am going to track one of you guys down one day and make you let me tag along!!

Now I need a beer. :willy_nilly:

That's quite the shift that! I'm usually dealing with the apprentice singing in the van which is horrifying! Out of interest why were you dishing out the CPR and sewing up wounds?

I'm not a proper electrician BigDav..(Electrical Trainee). Main job is a nurse (in a prison) and I need to change it!

Are you doing community service for doing something illegal you forgot to tell us about?

Sometimes I think prison would be a bit of a break Marvo. The prisoners have 3 meals a day, no bills, a gym and can pretty much do as they please! Of course that doesn't take into account the lack of freedom... which I wouldn't like!

Ah my mistake. Apologies. Fair play to you must be super difficult. Anytime you're in edinburgh you can come in the van with me no problems. As long as you sing better than the laddy then your in!!

Ps... Genuinely very nice of you to offer though, just a tad too far :smiley2:

Use your experience to install nurse call and staff call emergency systems, plus access and cctv....alot we attend, are installed so badly it`s criminal

Steve, I did not know that, thought you was at it full time. Fair play to you, and if I was still contracting you could of tagged along with me.:stooge_curly:

Okay two questions:

Trousers tucked into socks?

And why is there a toilet roll in your living room?

Ha! :smiley2:

Cant remember and hay fever!!

Is that an Ibanez Steve?
It's very pretty. I'm a Takemine man myself, if I could afford one I'd have a Taylor
I prefer Neil Young's version from the Weld album to Dylan's. Even though I love Dylan desperately.

Its a Washburn Trev (£500, bought for me by an ex-girlfriend who was a millionaire.... why did I finish it!). My main guitar is my classical nylon but I do like the sound of steel sometimes! I had you down as an electric guitar man Trev! I just seem to remember some old threads where you talked about rock I think?

Cheers Dave, thats good of you. Bedford wouldn't have been too far either!

Steve, I rock like a mofo but I'm busy teaching myself classical. Andres Segovia is a god to me, Christopher Parkening makes my jaw hit the floor. Etc. etc.
I'm doing it from tabs because I can't read a note. The older I get the wider my taste in music gets, I'm listening to stuff now that the 20 year old me would have laughed at.
At the bottom of me though, I'm still a 17 year old metal head. The only difference now is that I don't just write things off.

You're never too old to learn to read music Trev!! I'm not going to guess your age though mate!

I started classical lessons around 7 years ago and took then for around 4 years and got to grade 5. I then stopped as I got more into playing folky suff! I think tab is fine if you just want to learn a few nice classical tunes and I use it a lot, but if you really want to get into the classical guitar then you need to learn to read music I think.

I'm nearly 52 mate, I keep promising myself that I'll find a proper teacher and learn properly (I'm completely self taught by the way) but life always seems to get in the way.
I've got a pretty good command of my fingers although to most it would be laughable, I'm getting more and more into finger picking because it's just so expressive. I need to knuckle down onto one area though because all my life I've played what ever the mood has dictated.
Focus Trev. What? All of us? :)

Well at least HHD you may have the chance of a second job as a street one man band if the electrical and nursing do not work out!

I did a bit of busking Richard.. worked out to £9 p/hr which I was pretty chuffed with! :smiley2:

Edinburgh is a beautiful city. Sometimes called the Athens of the north. Go there if you get the chance.

If you are anywhere near Dun's Table, give me a shout.

Rykneild Way and Hope Street, just at the time my oldest brother joined the police. No, not the band. The area became known as The Bronx because of how rough it was so you can possibly imagine the reception I got because of what my brother did for a living, I used to get a hiding at least once a week. Always from a gang of them too.
I got them all one by one though and gave them just as bad as they gave me.
