As currently got sod-all to do, I was thinking about the choice of TPN board for a new set up. It only needs 2-3 three phase circuits and around a dozen single phase, total well below 100A, so initially our sparky had suggested something like the Wylex NHTN12MR 12-way board as ample and his usual choice.

But looking in to what we want included there is Type 2 SPD and a consumption meter, but none of the boards I have seen allow both SPD and integral meter, typically they have an extra space for one or the other. We also need a couple of extra DIN rail things (indicators, additional RCD, etc) so we are looking at at least one extra box for that.

Looking at the Hager Invicta range it as the same restriction on SPD & meter, and is slightly more expensive, but it has a better choice of MCB/RCD, etc, and a glazed doors. Personally I really like that as it allows indicators on DIR rails to be useful and a quick glance to see if anything has tripped.

So if the good ladies and gentlemen of this forum have the time, is going with Hager instead of they default Wylex for such a board a really good idea? Or any better (polite) suggestions?

Schneider would be my weapon of choice.

Schneider acti-9 every time, nothing else comes close these days.

The new range (acti-9 PoN) has come down in price from the previous range. And the massive advantage is the plug in neutral and earth contacts on the back of the RCBO's, there are no flying leads to terminate or manage so much faster and neater fitting and they guarantee the neutral connection.

Plus you can get any and every possible configuration of incoming device, meter, SPD etc configuration.

Hager. They specified a board for me with exactly what you describe.

But the RCBO's have flying leads, that adds time and hassle to fitting the board.
