Hi, Im studying Level 3 and come up against a question which said,
'What is the ip rating for a front cover?'
'What is the ip rating for the top?'
I am not sure what it's asking for even though i did pass the exam they don't give you the papers back. For the top i put 2x and for the cover i put 4x is this correct i was not so sure on what they're asking for. can you state which is the correct one.

Also I would like to know what to look for in a plastic conduit 20mm put on a external wall, it asked for the Senses used and what your looking for. Example: Sense, Look for: wear and tear. what else would you look for?

most enclosures stipulate IP4X top. IP2x sides and bottom. cover ( IMO) should be IP4X.

416.2 IP4X for the top surface, IP2X for other sides. These are a minimum requirement though.

GN3 has a very comprehensive list of items to be inspected with regard to conduit systems.

Externally fixed pvc conduits are prone to expansion in hot weather, we have all seen conduits snaking across walls. There is a connection which can be used to prevent this, all you need to do is find out what it is.

Conduit - is securely fixed ( touch )
Not damaged so as to have a detrimental effect on installation. (Sight )
Junction box lids are secure and not missing ( touch and sight )
Conduit is of British or eu standard
