Hi....lovely motor :) I would ask,where the ammeter is connected,and what charge warning lamp,is used?
 
Sorry for the silence, been using up some of Europe's fossil fuels in another car. I've attached the wiring diagram for the car, if that helps.
I've changed the alternator, with no difference. The AGM is on a Ctek charger and moves between 12.8 and 13.3V after 2 days on charge.

Isn't it always something simple?
I discovered an intermittent short on the charging socket, which seems to be the culprit. I'm told a sudden spike can 'switch off' the Pertronix ignition units, so this could be the cause of the random cutting out of the engine.
