I've been working 6 day weeks for the past few months, sometimes 7 and yesterday was the final day for a couple of weeks!! Thank god. They were generally 8-12 hour days and I'm exhausted.

Do you guys know when you've pushed it too far?

I just feel completely weary, physically and mentally. I dream about one of two things... either cables or falling asleep... thats ridiculous... dreaming about falling asleep :whatchutalkingabout

You watch the figures climbing higher in the bank but you dont have a life!

My new years resolution:

1. To work less
2. To dream about women rather than cables!!
3. To visit a pub (I think that's what it's called)

Plus me and lad have just got ourselves a puppy for the first time so i'll be forced to visit some countryside for walks and fresh air :)

Hope you chaps (and the odd lady electrician) have a really good Christmas and manage to stop thinking about cables for a while.

Cheers all :smiley2:

Good for you Steve, are you still nursing as well.?

Two more jobs to do (and lots of paperwork).
Enjoy the break and remember to work to live and not live to work!
Been there, done that, not worth it.

All the best for Christmas.

And now it's puppy time!

Finished grafting last september (2014) and not thinking of a return to actual real work again in the forseeable future :devilish:

Done virtually no work since the beginning of November due to my back going, and it's still getting worse. But it has enabled me to actually rest, and I'm sure that once I can move, I'll feel a lot better.

And you won't know that you've been on it too much until you've got nothing. Given the chance I will just work and work, but you need to have some time with your family. I try to do nothing from when I get in about 4.30 until my 2 ur old goes to bed about 7, then I either go out for small jobs or do stuff at home. Working a lot makes you unable to just sit there doing nothing, it's like an addiction.
