Hi

I have just changed my ELV Cabinet Down lighters from ELV to 240v because the transformer kept blowing the fuse (5A), I put these in over 20 years ago, so they have had a good go, as you can see from the pics, they are not located inside the cabinets, there is a pelmet and flat board joining across a space where the window is, and they are laying on top of the pelmet, not accessible from the floor ! .

The question really is , do I have to fit a earth where the spot bulb lays in the holder , the spot is just laying in the holder and it is made of glass , so there is no way the 2 pin ceramic plug can touch the holder ! , have earth into the connector in the choc boxes .

Comments and maybe a bit of advice , there is no part on the holder that I could fix a earth , prob would have to drill a hole somewhere to attach one ! .

Cheers

Spike

See your point , but they are sitting in a metal holder and the bulb area is open to the air , I suppose I could get some more holders that hold the spot above the chip board !

I tend to leave my kitchen pelmet lights on all night for a nice backlight for getting to the fridge for beers and led lights cost next to nothing to run

just fit GU10 LEDs. no earth required after the JB.
