hi all, I have had an old gent recommended to me with what he thinks is a fault on his PV generation meter (landis and gyr 5235) not sure which model.
He has explained that his meter seems to be switching from displaying the current date and what he describes as a portcullis displayed on the screen. But has been working clocking up kWh previously.
I personally have not seen this before, the chap is an hour away but would like to offer advice if I can't get to see him.
Anyone who would know something about this.

I haven't come across this before but we did run into problems a few years ago when we kept these meters in a cold location. The display didn't initially work but it did resolve itself after a few hours.

Ask him for photos. Is the meter really showing the date? That's odd. Or has the meter perhaps stopped working with a reading like 01912.17 on it and he thinks it's the date?

Is the "portcullis" really an "E" (meaning "Error") or something?

If you go to look, make sure you take a replacement. Changing the meter details with the FiT provider isn't usually a big hassle.
