Landlord refusing our EICR

Hi -

Been renting a business unit from Bizspace - on exit we must produce a EICR which we have via a third party - said party is not part of any scam.

Bizspace are demanding it be a EICR from a scam firm. But im arguing they are wrong.

Can anyone give me a sentance with a regulation that will shut them up once and for all so i can get my flaming deposit back without them blood suckers deducting for another cert.

621.5 Periodic inspection and testing shall be undertaken by a skilled person or persons, competent in such work.

This is the last email ive had the other day - lol.

Unfortunately, this information doesn’t alleviate my concerns, whilst further reviewing of the test and certification provided, show that the Test Sheets are a mixture of non-current EICR documents, there is a document with the old periodic inspection report 2008 and a document with BS7671 2001 amended to 2008. The new EICR test in accordance with BS7671 2008 as amended to 2015.

I could go on, but to alleviate a further concern, could you also provide the Calibration Number of the meter used to undertake the testing.

Further time has now elapsed and we still have no satisfactory certificate in place, so if we cannot resolve before the end of the week, then Tom will be asked to instruct our own electrician and that cost, including any remedial actions, will be deducted from the deposit held.

Its not as bad as this jerk is making out.

What do the terms of the contract you agreed to have to say about this?
If the contract or terms and conditions state that you must have an EICR carried out by a scam member then that is what you must do. However if they only state that an EICR must be carried out by an independent party then a non scam member should be fine.

Then it sounds like the EICR is incorrect
