Lighting final circuits

I am planning on using a cu change I have done in a 16th century farmhouse for my on site assesment probably with ELECSA.I have also done a complete rewire and originally there were two 1930s fuse boxes with about twelve seperate lighting fuses so I now have several 1.5 t&e going to each of five mcbs in the dual rcd cu.The question is would it be better practice to terminate each set of circuits in junction boxes before the cu so that there is only one 1.5 t&e going to each lighting mcb?Thanks,Sparkdog.

Not ideal, but as long as each MCB is labeled and a detailed circuit schedule is attached near the CU then it should be fine. He may note it as a non conformance, which is not a failure but that would be a good opportunity if he does to ask him for a reg number.

Also, make sure the CU has 2 colour, RCD test, and next inspection labels.

i may be miss reading but why did you not put a cu in with enouh ways.crabtree do a dual rcd cu stack 20 ways top 20 ways bottom with main switch and 2 rcds fitted you get 33 useable ways split over 2 rcds

I agree with both of the above, i can,t understand why you did,nt put a board in that can cope with all the circuits you have, we did it once, believe it or not we tapped a 1.5 and doubled it up on a 6amp breaker just for an extra the customer wanted it was a bell transformer via a spur, probably laziness on our part, could,nt be bothered to buy a breaker just for that, eh! niceic pulled us for it on our inspection, so just becareful.

Hi,It doesn't really need all those ways from a load point of view as most original fuses just had about one room or a little more on them so I thought they could be combined and fed into the mcbs as single 1.5 t&es.Also the customer wanted only one cu with max 14 ways.Regards,Sparkdog.
