Hi everyone DIYer here with a weird situation. Have 2 two gang switch in a bathroom. One for the vanity lights the other for the exhaust. Pretty standard stuff. This is a house built 12 years ago. Everything worked fine until a week ago when the lights and fan would no longer turn on. The box has all the grounds and the white neutrals combined. It was wired with 3 black wires, one line shared between the switches and two for the loads. I thought maybe the switches went bad but what I discovered is that some how all 3 black wires are now hot. No other electrical work has been done lately. Any idea what would have caused this?

Only other clue I have is according to my kids the lights stopped working 2 weeks ago (don't know about the fan) then they worked again for a week but back to not working.

Thanks

Anyone have a suggestion?

I think the best idea, assuming all connections are tight, is to get an electrician in to do some testing.

How did you test all blacks were hot?
