This person requires some work. They've hopefully explained their skills and qualifications and what area they're in. Otherwise, what's the bloody point?

Hi All,

I am a IT trained person, with 25 years experience and 5 years as an apprentice Electrical Engineer. I though I would ask advice because I am desperate now.
So the situation is my Job as an IT person is coming to an end. I have applied for a lot of Jobs had a few interviews. Been unsuccessful, totally disillusioned with the state of employment options in the UK for IT, The last interview I went for was available because a polish worker wanted to go home. Not sure if immigration is the reason, not blaming it. Not sure if its my age? 53. I have tons of IT specialist experience, however its not specialist enough to get me the job with a possible 6 other specialists.

The reason i have reached out is because i recently installed an off grid Solar system. It is running now and it is not grid connected on any way. I am considering taking up the qualifications needed for Experienced Worker. I have a dilemma because its expensive, and I might not pass it, if I do pass it am I likely to get enough work to satisfy the log book. I could try as an Electricians mate but not sure how successful that will be.

At a crossroads not sure what to do , what do you think? Is it worth trying for the Electrical testing 2391-52, I am resilient when it comes to learning. I self taught my Solar installation through You tube and previous knowledge of Electrical work.
