Funny one today.... :wacko:

Been to connect up some garden lights + water feature.

Customer kindly ran all the cables in under the new patio, 1mm 3 core flex ---> through alkerthine.

Insisted on getting his own cable, trying to save ££.
Went to cut back the flex to length at my adaptable box, but thought that looks a bit strange - he's only gone a brought a drum of co-ax and wired it all in that :6:

Luckily I had decided to price this one on a decent hourly rate as a fair bit of fiddling around.

Spent most of the morning between ripping up his new patio and re-wiring it all.

:biggrin5::biggrin5:

Oh no, you've just ripped up the customers satelite dish cable.

Well at least he wont see sythai on the next rouge traders episode

Did your customer look in any way embarrassed when you told him??

His face was absolute picture - classic - couldnt really take the P too much he's a bit straight and narrow if you know what I mean:wacko:

Recently I quoted to replace a 45 year old (perished) cable to a garage - the customer decided to do it himself and get me back to connect and test.

When I went back I discovered that when his son in law had helped dig the trench and when doing so he had he punctured the gas main coming into the house!

The things people do to save money,and it ends up costing them more in the long run.
