mains smoke alarm

1-do mains operated smoke alarm and heat alarm have to be installed using fire proof cable or can the normal grey flat cable do the job?

2-got mains operated 2xsmoke alarm and 1xheat detector, why do smoke alarms come without battery back up but heat detector do come with battery back up?

3- is it necessary to install a smoke alarm in the loft?

Mains smokes I buy have battery back up so just use normal t&e.
Is the loft inhabited ?

1. Not in domestic dwellings
2. They should have, maybe yours have lithium (hidden) battery
3. No
