Just been to a job and the cover which goes over the MCB's is missing can you code for this?

Front cover is on no finger or tool ingress could occur etc
 
got you. should not pose a problem as long as the IP rating of the CU cover is not compromised.
 
As above, no code as long as the IP rating has not been compromised. Seen this a few times where the CU is in a position where the cover can't be opened i.e. in an enclosure with a sliding door.

If there is the possibility of accidental operation of the MCB then make a note on the paperwork, i.e. in a cupboard where coats are hung they may accidentally knock the MCB and switch the circuit off.
