Hello, wanting to install a new (old) MCCB in an Dorman Smith Loadline board, found a couple online, however, the client ordering the works is not keen on installing old breakers, so they would rather us connect tails onto the busbar stubs where the breaker would usually be, fashion some kind of protective shroud and take the tails on to an enclosure bolted to the side of the board, with a new protective device in. I know this would work, just not sure how I feel about it. Has anyone had a similar situation before?

Funnily enough I saw this a couple of months ago on an old Merlin panel but I am not sure I would be certifying anything like that. You have two choices use a sourced second hand part and you could still run through the second new device although you would have to ensure selectivity or contact Dorman Smith.
