We are planning to run a earth cable for a distance of 500m. Is there a way to monitor the cable if it was to be stolen?
We need a type of alarm or warning device to tell us if the cable is missing.

Thanks

Can you give us a bit more info about why you need 500m earth cable?

If you are running data and need to keep any potential difference down then using fibre optic is going to be a much better solution. If it is for a parallel earth on SWA cable then it might be cheaper to use a RCD to achieve disconnection times, etc, than to try and keep the fault impedance down.
