I love the way some people think the water and electric combo doesn’t matter.
When I was a kid a girl down our street got elecricuted in the shower. Every time I see a badly wired shower I think of her. RIP
 
you guys should come to rural France for a holiday if you think that is as bad as it gets:D.... mind you, electric showers are a bit of a rarity here (it's not that the French are smelly it's just they tend to use bloody great big chauffe eau's (hot water cylinders) but there are plenty of other examples of 'DIY wiring'....oops.. my house is DIY wiring... but in my defense I did buy the book before doing it and it passed its consuel....

I am in Rural France and here's a photo of a CU I had to replace due to it "smoking"... this was all live and someone living in the house.

Thats it!!! I remember when I did mine, at the end I had just one live spur that went to a secondary distribution board (the wiring in the house had grown over the years) and it was spitting and smoking as I was trying to untangle it.... it does concentrate your mind....Happy days!
