Discuss Neutral earth faults in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

When you say fault, what kind of fault how serious is the matter? You say this has been happening for seven years yet nothing serious has resulted from the actions of the person referred to so is there really a problem? Don't get me wrong but I do meet people who are regs based and you cannot use any earth apart from regs table which says 16mm² which in fact it is possible to do so.

Hi all,

I've got an electrician at work who constantly keeps putting n-e faults off the rcd side to the non rcd side & leaving them.

Now in the past I've been out to two n- e faults which have melted the insulation off the 1.5mm cable thus requiring a rewire, now what should I do..

1, have a quiet word again (which I have been doing for 7years).

2, start a disaplinary

being a supervisor i need to put this to bed so I'm thinking a written warning what do you think.
Does your company have a Whistleblowing policy?
