Hello all,
For Quebec Electricians.
I am new to this forum and had a question about installing a new panel.
The previous owner had installed an Aluminum 3/0 2 AWG cable from main panel to the garage.
I would like to install a 100 amp panel in my garage to add additional circuits for my house to install near my garage. The installation will be quicker and easier this way.
I purchased a 100 amp circuit breaker for my main panel but it only supports cables up to 2/0 gauge.
Would the following be legal to install within Quebec:
Main Panel -> 100 Amp circuit Breaker -> 2/0 AWG Aluminum cable 5 ft -> Thermoplastic Junction Box -> H-TAP Compression Connector for 3/0 to 2/0 -> 3/0 2 AWG Cable 60 ft -> Sub Panel Main Breaker if it accepts 3/0 cable or -> Thermoplastic Junction Box -> H-TAP Compression Connector for 3/0 to 2/0 -> 2/0 AWG Aluminum cable 5 ft -> Sub Panel Main Breaker.
