I apologise for using caps in my title but I am raging inside, I bought myself what I thought to be a decent set of CK screwdrivers, not expensive but not cheap you know. I will say I am only Mr DIY at the moment, but I am pretty handy(Apprenticeship interview on wednesday xD) so I am fitting some chrome sockets in my house, get to about the 3rd one and I notice that my screwy is struggling...I take a little look see at the tip it was a bent as a 3 bob note!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok rant over, am I to blame for the mutilated screwdriver or is it shoddy build quality on CKs part?

P.S This is my 30th post!

I like Wera drivers...but they come at a cost compared to most other VDE screw drivers, circa £28-35 a set of 6 which is a fair whack at the end of the day. Upon buying my first set...i left them on a job under a ladies coffee table and it wasnt worth me going back to get them, pretty epic fail. Then when tightening a termination, the lazer cut, super "hardened" tip just snapped off my 4mm flat head.... :/ i was gobsmacked considering i wasnt even really giving it a lot of welly.

I have come to the conclusion somewhat, as someone who has a lot of tools, and most of them i have spent good money on and often been horribly disapointed with their performance, sometimes with such things as screwdrivers and spanners, they are too prone to loss and damage and its probably just best to buy medium qualitiy, medium priced stuff, that can be considered disposable, and we dont have to drive home from a job and get 30 miles down the road and realise.... ****!!!.... my *******!!! screwdrivers!

if they're genuine CK, you should be able to get them replaced. could just be a manufacturing fault in the odd 1.

I use irazola drivers, they are a bit pricey but they have lasted me for 3 years now so ten quid a year isn't bad going and I've only lost one of them under a floor board I think.

beat you there paul. i lost 1 irazola the 1st day i used it.

Lossing screwdrivers under floors is one thing, look at what I found under the floor last week, left by a British gas plumber, oh well finders keepers :)
