P

petal spark

Doing a rewire at the moment. There are 2 boards, 1 is feed from the other. The main one has a 84amp RCD, and the one it feeds is a 64amp fuse, all this is from a 100 amp main fuse. now there is an isolator that comes off from "somewhere". Now the client wants me to change the Isolator for a 4 way Dis Board, so that i can feed a 3 phase supply to a 500w compressor and some small power and lighting... Now what size mains isolator would i get away.. he has been told a 125amp... I think that a 100a would be better... ps its a job i really dont wanna do, well out of my comfort zone.:confused::confused:

your descriptions sound weird.try and send us some photos(preferably of you lying at the beach while you get someone else to do the job)

If you are talking about the main isolator for the distrubution board then 125A is fine as this is the current rating of the isolator, this will be protected by the 100A main fuse. ( 125A are more common than 100A isolators )
